Maoist Center’s closed-door session deferred until 5 PM

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: The ongoing closed-door session of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center)’s 8th General Convention has been deferred till 5 PM on Saturday.

The session resumed at 2 PM after it passed the party statue on Saturday itself. Saturday’s first session began at 11 AM through which the party statute was endorsed unanimously.

Addressing the second session, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said that the only task left after the endorsement of his political and ideological document and party statue is to elect the new leadership.

According to Prachanda, members of the central working committee will be picked based on the consensus among the delegates. “Otherwise, we’ll also go for a democratic way of electing central members,” he said.
