Update: Number of candidates withdrawing their nominations reaches 27

KATHMANDU, December 12: As many as 27 candidates, who had filed their candidacy for the post of central member of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) on Saturday, withdrew their nominations.

The Nepali Congress (NC), the ruling party, has extended the nomination withdrawal period by one and half hours.

Earlier the election committee granted the time till 11 AM today to candidates willing to withdraw their nomination. The time has now been extended to 12:30 PM. 

Candidates withdrawing their nominations includes Jangilal Ray, Surya Kumar Yadav, Govinda Raj Bohora, Min Bishwakarma, Sitaram Mahatto, Junakumari Thani, Dhurbaraj Gurung, Dipak Adhikari, Bhimarjun Acharya, Indhira Thapa, Ganesh Kumar Mandal, Bina Poudel, Bhakta Bahadur Balayar, Maya Rana, Raju Raj Joshi, Gopi Lal Bishwakarma and Mina Kumari Thapa.

Likewise, Vishnu Poudel, Anu Gurung, Shakuntala Sharma, Mahek Kumar Karmacharya, Singha Bahadur Rana, Sangita Mandal, Sita Poudel, Kamal Prasad Bhusal, Umesh Kumar Basnet and Madhav Prasad Acharya also withdrew their nominations.
