Govt prepares to prorogue House session

KATHMANDU, October 6: The government has begun preparations to prorogue the ongoing House session.

At a time when the main opposition party, CPN (UML) has been obstructing the House session continuously, the government is looking forward to ending the House session.

Gyanendra Karki, Law Minister, has already held an informal meeting with Speaker of the lower house Agni Prasad Sapkota in this regard.

According to the sources at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the government is planning to withdraw some of the bills presented in parliament and prorogue the House session. Officials at the Ministry and the Parliamentary secretariat have also held meetings accordingly. 

The main opposition party, UML, has been continuously obstructing the 9th session of lower house and 10th session of the upper house since its beginning citing the involvement of Speaker Sapkota in the split of CPN (UML).
