Meeting of task-force underway to settle distribution of ministerial berths among ruling alliance

KATHMANDU, October 3: A meeting of the task force formed to settle the distribution of ministerial berths among the ruling alliance is currently underway at Baluwatar in Kathmandu.

The meeting began at 9 AM on Sunday at Baluwatar. The government has been unable to give a full shape to the Cabinet even after 80 days of its formation.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba currently has a Cabinet of six ministers.

The task force-led by General Secretary of Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka includes representatives from CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).

The government, expected to expand the Cabinet soon after the annulment of the ‘party-split’ ordinance, has failed to do so as days have passed after the President Bidya Devi Bhandari annulled the ordinance on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
