COVID-10: 29.2 percent of total population fully vaccinated

KATHMANDU: As many as 6,348,279 people have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease since Nepal launched the vaccination campaign in January-end. This accounts for 29.2 percent of the total population of the country, according to the Health Ministry. 

Similarly, 7,694,609 people are waiting for the second dose, reveals the regular media updates released by the ministry on Saturday afternoon. 

As many as 83,373 people were vaccinated on Saturday including  3,070 first doses and 887 doses of AstraZaneca vaccine, 60,351 first shots and 15,191 second jabs of Verocell vaccine and ) 3,874 Johnson & Johnson vaccine. 

Nepal has been administering  Covishiled (manufactured by Serum Institute of India), Japanese-made COVID-19 AstraZeneca, Swedish AstraZeneca vaccine, US-made Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Chinese-made Verocell vaccines. Of them, J&J works on a single dose.
