Four former CJs get clean-chit over contempt of court case
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC), on Friday, acquitted four former chief justices of the contempt of court charge filed against them.
A division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla scrapped the writ petition lodgest against the former CJs Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, Anup Raj Sharma, Kalyan Shrestha and Sushila Karki for their joint statement citing House dissolution on December 20, 2020 as ‘unconstitutional’ .
Advocate Lochan Bhattarai filed the contempt of court case against the four CJs saying that they committed contempt of court by issuing the joint statement on the case which was sub judice at the apex court.
