UML holds legacy of NCP: KP Oli
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the party holds the legacy of the erstwhile Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
Presenting his political document in the ongoing statute congress of the party on Friday, Chairman Oli said that the UML is the continuation of the NCP. “This is a unified party and this is the first statute congress of the unified party.”
On occasion, the unification could not succeed due to some persons in the party. According to him, they were forced to return to the UML as the court revived through its verdict. “Though the NCP was split, the UML holds its legacy,” he added.
It is to be noted that the NCP, which was formed after the merger between UML and CPN (Maoist Center) in 2018, was invalidated by the Supreme Court’s order on February 23, earlier this year.
The main opposition is holding its first Statute Convention starting Friday.
