CPN (UML) avoiding discussion and meeting: All-party meeting
KATHMANDU, September 30: An all-party meeting held on Thursday, which was boycotted by the main opposition party CPN (UML) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has concluded that CPN (UNL) is avoiding to hold discussion and meeting.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba summoned an all-party meeting at 10 AM to discuss the continuous obstructions of CPN (UML) in the House sessions and find a solution, but the meeting was boycotted by CPN (UML) and RPP.
“CPN (UML) did not attend the all-party meeting called by PM Deuba. They had also boycotted similar meetings earlier summoned by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota” said Gyanendra Karki, Minister for Law and spokesperson for the government after the meeting, adding that the party is avoiding discussions and talks related to house obstructions.
On his part, PM Deuba expressed his belief that CPN (UML) will join similar meetings in future. “I will summon them again and they will attend,” PM Deuba said.
The main opposition, CPN (UML), has been obstructing the House session since the beginning of the session as a result of tussle between Speaker Sapkota and the party regarding formation of a new political party by a splinter faction of the party-led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
