Locals build infrastructures to attract tourists

 

Babiyachaur, Myagdi, On their own initiative, the locals from Khopra and Khayarbarahi of Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 have built infrastructures to attract tourists. 
They spent more than Rs 15 million to build local trails, resting places, and community hotels, so that the tourists would enjoy the amenities and feel convenience. 
With the infrastructures in place, the locals have expected to unlock the potential of tourism from religious viewpoint. 
Coordinator of Khayarbarahi Than and the Area Conservation Trust, Raju Pun, informed a well managed trekking route for tourists and devotees to reach Khayar from Paudwar village via Khopra was constructed. 
Along the trekking route, there are resting places as well. An altar is created for the devotees to conduct homage at the Khayar Barahi. The Khayar pond is also a place for sight, he added. 
The Khayar Barahi is located down in the eastern face of the Annapurna peak at the height of 4,630 metre. It is believed that if puja is conducted at Khayar Barahi on the Day of Janai purnima, one's wishes are fulfilled. 
The amount for the infrastructures was raised with donation. 
The way to reach Khayar Barahi gives an enchanting view to Khopralek, hills and the sun shine.
