Govt to conduct urine tests of people older than 40 years
KATHMANDU, September 23: The government is all set to conduct urine tests of 6,537,329 people who are more than 40 years old.
“The urine tests will be conducted in all ward offices of all the people across the country who are more than 40 years old,” said Dr Krishna Poudel, a joint secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
“The government will conduct the tests as a preventive measure against kidney failure,” Dr Poudel further said.
The tests are estimated to cost a total of Rs 326,866,450.
According to Dr Poudel, 3,000 people in Nepal suffer kidney failure every year.
