Prez, PM visit Basantapur to observe Kumari Yatra (with photos)

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba reached Basantapur in the heart of the capital on Sunday afternoon to observe Kumari Yatra. 

Kumari Yatra is a part of the Indra Jatra festival, which is celebrated with huge fanfare in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Dhulikhel and Dolakha among others. Indra, the ‘god of rain’ is worshipped during this festival.
