Two IEDs exploded targeting ballot boxes in Dadeldhura

 

Dadeldhura,  An improvised explosive device exploded this morning targeting a vehicle carrying the ballot boxes from the inner Madhes areas of Dadeldhura to the district headquarters. According to the District Police Office, the IED went off at Kainpani of Parshuram Municipality-12. 
Though the vehicle (Ba 1 Jha 5539) used for transporting the ballot boxes used for the Thursday's second phase elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies was slightly damaged in the explosion, ballot boxes are safe, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakraraj Joshi. 
Likewise, an unidentified group detonated an IED at Sunkhola of Alital Rural Municipality targeting the vehicle transporting the ballot boxes to the district headquarters, police said. 
The explosion caused some delay in the transportation of ballot boxes, the Office of Chief District Election Officer. 
Out of 117 polling centres set up in the district for the second phase electoral purpose, to date ballot boxes from 76 centres have been already brought to the district headquarters while the collection from the remaining 41 centres is on the process, Chief District Election Officer Dr Ramesh Prasad Rijal said.
