Left alliance clinches both State Assembly seats in Myagdi

 

Babiyachaur,  Left alliance candidates have won the State Assembly elections in the Myagdi Constituency- 1 (A and B). 
CPN (Maoist Centre)'s Binod KC has become victorious in the State Assembly (A) by defeating his nearest contender Nepali Congress-RPP alliance's Bhim Prasad Gauchan by 2,526 votes. 
KC garnered 14,704 votes while Gauchan received 12, 175 votes, according to the Chief District Election Officer. 
KC is probably the youngest face in the State Assembly from the Province 4 while the 77-year-old Gauchan had already served as the Minister of State twice in the Panchayat system. Total number of the voters in Myagdi that has only one seat in the House of Representatives was 42,933 and 27,675 cast their ballots in the yesterday's elections. 
Similarly, UML candidate Naradevi Pun has been elected to the State Assembly member from constituency 'B', securing 10,868 votes. Pun, who is the common candidate of the Leftist Alliance, defeated Amlal Phagami of the Nepali Congress by 2,871 votes. 
Pun was also the member of the second Constituent Assembly and became a Minister of State. Pun got 10,868 votes and her nearest competitor Phagami polled 7,990 votes, Chief District Election Officer Raj Kumar Koirala said. 
The counting of votes towards the House of Representatives election has reached the last stage. CPN (UML)'s Bhupendra Bahadur Thapa is ahead.
