Ballot boxes of 2nd phase legislative polls being brought to vote counting stations

 

Kathmandu, The ballot boxes of the second phase of House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held in 45 districts of the country on Thursday are being brought to the vote counting stations in the respective districts, the Election Commission has said. 
Similarly, details of the counting of votes under the first phase of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held in 32 districts on November 26 have started coming in from various districts. The counting of votes under the first phase elections has started for the 37 House of Representatives constituencies and 74 State Assembly constituencies in all the districts has started and the final results of some constituencies is already declared. 
Vote counting towards the first-past-the-post elections have been completed in Mustang, Manang and Rukum East but the Election Commission has not been formally notified of the full details of the winners, Election Commission spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said. He added that the counting of votes towards the proportional representation seats of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections is taking place in these districts. 
Meanwhile, the task of bringing the ballot boxes of the second phase of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held in 128 constituencies towards the HoR seats and 256 State Assembly seats held in 45 districts on December 7 to the vote counting centres has reached the final stage, the Election Commission said.
As per the information received at the Joint Election Operation Centre at the EC as of 10 am today, 20 out of 57 ballot boxes in Terhathum district, 18 out of 137 ballot boxes in Sindhuli district, three out of 189 ballot boxes in Kavrepalanchok, 13 out of 112 ballot boxes in Nawalparasi East and three out of 151 ballot boxes in Pyuthan are being collected to the respective districts' vote counting centres. 
Likewise, 33 ballot boxes out of 111 in Salyan, 22 out of 136 ballot boxes in Dailekh, eight out of 138 ballot boxes in Surkhet, 22 out of 115 ballot boxes in Doti, 14 out of 231 ballot boxes in Kailali and 21 out of 77 ballot boxes in Dadeldhura are being transported to the vote counting centres. The rest of the ballot boxes have already been brought to the district headquarters, according to the Election Commission.
