Ruling alliance meeting today
KATHMANDU, September 12: A meeting of the ruling alliance is scheduled at 10 AM on Sunday.
The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister Office Residence at Baluwatar to discuss the alliance’s strategies and Cabinet expansion, according to Bhanu Deuba, chief secretary of PM Deuba.
Meanwhile, the CPN (UML), main opposition party, has been obstructing the house sessions questioning the role of Agni Prasad Sapkota, the speaker of the lower house of parliament.
“Today’s meeting will mainly discuss how the house sessions can be conducted amid obstruction from the opposition party,” said Upendra Yadav, chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party.
At the time when PM Deuba has been unable to give a full shape to his Cabinet even after two months of his appointment, rifts are likely among the alliance, warns experts. Deuba currently has five member Cabinet including four ministers and a state minister.
