Daily COVID-19 case count drops below 1000; 68,630 people vaccinated on Saturday

KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported a gradual decline in the daily case count in recent days. According to the officials, as many as 994 people tested positive for the fatal disease on Saturday. 

The cases were identified during the 9,840 tests carried out in the past 24 hours as of Saturday afternoon. 

Meanwhile, 1,368 patients got over the disease taking the total number of recoveries to 738,034. 

Twelve patients, however, succumbed to the disease on Saturday which has taken the total number of fatalities to 10,936 which accounts for 1.5 percent of total infections. 

5,160,524 people fully vaccinated

Since the country began the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in January, earlier this year, 5,160,524 people have so far been fully vaccinated. Similarly, 5,769,328 other people have been waiting for the second dose. According to the health ministry, 68,630 people were vaccinated on Saturday alone.
