SC scraps writ petition seeking postponement of NC’s 14th General Convention
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court, on Thursday, scrapped a writ petition seeking the postponement of the 14th General Convention of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC).
Narottam Baidya, a Bagmati Province Assembly member representing NC, lodged the writ petition asking the apex court to issue an order to postpone the general convention for a later date.
A single bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha annulled the writ petition.
The ruling party is holding its 14th General Convention from November 25 to 29. As a part of its general convention, the party’s ward convention kicked off on September 3.
