272 local representatives in Kaski to remain with CPN-UML
KASKI, September 4: All the people’s representatives elected in Kaski district from the CPN-UML have decided to remain the same party after its split.
The people’s representatives of the CPN-UML were given the option to either remain in the same party or join newly formed CPN (Unified Socialist).
During a conference of people’s representatives held in Kaski on Saturday, all the 272 local representatives have announced to remain intact with CPN (Unified Socialist), said Krishna Thapa, UML Kaski Chairman.
The conference was attended by people’s representatives of four rural municipalities, Pokhara Metropolitan City, lawmakers of the federal parliament and Gandaki Province Assembly members.
After the split of CPN-UML and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), the Election Commission has issued a deadline till 5 PM of September 7 for people’s representatives to remain either in the same party or join new party.
