NC’s ward conventions kick off from today
KATHMANDU, September 3: The 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress formally kicked off from Friday.
The ward conventions began only in 56 districts across the country from Friday. The conventions in the remaining 21 districts are yet to begin owing to the active membership disputes.
According to Mahadev Prasad Yadav, coordinator of NC’s Election Committee, an election officer has been mobilized in every ward to conduct the election successfully.
“The ward convention will be conducted in more than 50 percent wards throughout the country,” said Yadav.
According to the party statues, ward conventions in the remaining districts should be held by September 11 as the party is scheduled to hold local-level (rural municipalities and municipalities) conventions from that day.
