Prachanda, Madhav Nepal hold one-on-one meeting at Singha Durbar
KATHMANDU: Chairmen of two ruling parties --- CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have held a one-on-one meeting at the parliamentary party office of Maoist Center in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.
Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and US Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal have been holding the meeting where two leaders discuss border dispute with China in Humla and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), according to sources.
The government on Wednesday formed a committee to study the problems related to the border area in the north and submit a report. A Cabinet meeting formed a committee to study the problems related to the border area from Limi Lapcha to Hilsa in Namkha rural municipality of Humla. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki shared that the coordinator of the committee will be the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the members will be representatives of the Survey Department, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and border experts.
Meanwhile, the MCC compact, which was signed four years ago, is yet to be implemented.
A high-level official of the MCC is arriving in Nepal next week to discuss the compact.
