Action against 14 MPs including Madhav Nepal not necessary: Parliament Secretariat
KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has said that it is not necessary to take action against 14 federal lawmakers as they already joined the newly registered CPN (Unified Socialist).
The CPN-UML, led by KP Sharma Oli, had expelled its 14 lawmakers including the then senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, on August 17 as they were preparing to form a new party.
The new party -- CPN (US) -- led by leader Nepal was registered at the Election Commission (EC) on August 26 following the introduction of party-split ordinance by the government.
“As the Madhav Nepal faction has recently been recognized as a separate political party, action against them is not necessary,” a high-level source told Ratopati quoting the parliament secretariat.
