Chairman Nepal to pick ministers from CPN (US)
KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Shortly after electing Madhav Kumar Nepal as the parliamentary party leader on Sunday afternoon, the newly formed CPN (Unified Socialist) has authorized Nepal, who is also the party chairman, to pick the ministers to join the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
According to Birodh Khatiwada, a lawmaker of the party, Chairman Nepal will finalize the ministers to represent in the coalition government as it is always not possible to hold meetings to decide on the matter. “He [Nepal] has been delegated power to determine the number of ministers from the party and pick the names.”
PP Statute Drafting Committee formed
The meeting of the parliamentary party also formed a committee to draft the statute of parliamentary party. The committee comprises Bhawani Khapung, Laxmi Chaudhary, Nira Jairu, Sher Bahadur Kunwar, and Khagendra Prasad Puri.
Meanwhile, Dr Beduram Bhushal was elected the party leader in the National Assembly (NA).
