UML prepares to take action against those joining CPN (Unified Socialist)
KATHMANDU, August 26: The main opposition party, CPN (UML) has begun preparations to take action against those leaders and lawmakers who have joined CPN (Unified Socialist)-led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
A central committee meeting is scheduled to be held this afternoon which is likely to take decisions in this regard.
According to Sher Bahadur Tamang, secretary at the party office, the meeting will mainly dwell on three agendas -- implementation of 10-point agreement, membership distribution and statute convention and taking actions against central committee members and lawmakers who stood in favor of party split.
As many as 55 central committee members and 30 lawmakers of the party had supported Nepal to register a new political party at the Election Commission.
“The meeting will seek clarifications from those supporting Nepal and take action against them,” said a standing committee member of the party.
