Nepal and Thakur visiting EC today for authentication of their new party
KATHMANDU, August 25: The chairman of newly registered CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal and chairman of Democratic Socialist Party, Mahantha Thakur are scheduled to visit the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday.
According to the spokesperson of the poll body, chairmen of both the parties are required to be physically present at the commission for authentication of their new party.
Following the issuance of a party-split ordinance, the CPN-UML and Janata Samajbadi Party split, which gave rise to CPN (Unified Socialist) and Democratic Socialist Party.
The poll body is scheduled to pass the decision regarding the authentication of these new political parties by 2 PM this afternoon.
