NCP (Unified Socialist) unveils drafts of its manifesto, interim statute and regulation
KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Newly formed Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) has unveiled its manifesto and regulations.
A team of leaders including party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal reached at a resort in Chandragiri to finalize the documents.
Nepal, the erstwhile senior leader of the main opposition CPN-UML, registered the party on Wednesday, last week shortly after President Bidya Devi Bhandari issued an ordinance that allows either 20 percent central committee members or 20 percent lawmakers to form a new party if they opt for.
As many as 60 leaders including 32 lawmakers of the federal parliament had a-night-stay in Chandragiri. The ‘residential meeting’ was aimed at finalizing the party’s manifesto, interim statute, regulation and political proposal. Ram Kumari Jhakri, a leader of the party, shared that the participants were distributed the drafts of the documents on Monday itself.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the new party are making final preparations for authentication, for which they have been called at the Election Commission on Wednesday.
