All COVID isolation wards fall empty in Rukum (East)
RUKUM, August 21: The isolation wards built in Rukum (East) for treatment of the COVID-19 patients have fallen vacant lately due to the decreasing cases of COVID-19 in the locality.
The isolation wards at Bhume Rural Municipality and Hospital at Rukum (East) have been unoccupied since August 16 as all the COVID-19 infected people being treated in isolation wards have returned home upon full recovery,” said Health Office’s Nil Prasad Giri.
Giri shared that some isolation wards were handed over to local health facilities after no new cases of COVID-19 were reported there. The isolation ward at Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality in the district has remained vacant for a long time.
There are currently 25 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. All the infected ones were receiving treatment at home-isolation, informed Giri.
Since the second wave of COVID-19, 541 coronavirus cases were reported in the district and 13 fatalities. The district has been witnessing a sharp decline in the number of new cases in recent days.
