Mahatha Thakur, too, changes party’s name, Sarat Singh Bhandari named senior leader
KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The new party led by Mahantha Thakur, which was earlier named as the JSP (Democratic), has switched its name to Democratic Socialist Party (DSP).
A leader of the party, Surendra Jha told Ratopati that they applied at the Election Commission (EC) for the change on Friday.
This came a day after the Upendra Yadav-led JSP filed a petition at the poll body not to allow Thakur to use JSP in the new party’s name.
The new party has 31 Executive Committee members and two senior leaders. In the recent change, the party named Sarat Singh Bhandari as the senior leader along with Rajendra Mahato.
