UML lawmakers picket Speaker’s chamber

KATHMANDU, August 20: Citing that the Speaker did not relieve lawmakers who were sacked by the CPN-UML earlier, the lawmakers of the party have picketed the chamber of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

The lawmakers have picketed the Speaker’s chamber in an apparent bid to pressurize the latter to relieve those lawmakers from their post, according to an MP Gokul Baskota.

The party also drew the attention of Speaker Sapkota regarding the issue, on Thursday.

Earlier, the party had sacked its 14 lawmakers including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
