Agitating ex-Gurkha veteran Gurung hospitalized in UK

KATHMANDU, August 18: Former Gurkha veteran, Dhan Gurung -- who was among those staging a relay hunger strike in front of the British Prime Minister Office for the past 12 days-- was hospitalized on Tuesday evening.

Gurung, who is a patient of diabetes and blood pressure, was experiencing health issues for the past few days. It has been said that Gurung will rejoin the relay soon after recovery.

The agitating Gurkha veterans have refused the call of the British Defense Minister. Minister Ben Wallace had proposed agatitating Gurkhas for meeting through an email.

Former Gurkha veterans have been staging a fast-unto-death campaign demanding equal pension pay in the United Kingdom.
