291 Nepali nationals arrive Kathmandu from Afghanistan since Aug 6

KATHMANDU, August 17: At a time when the international communities are evacuating their citizens from Afghanistan after the Taliban gained control over the government, Nepali nationals are also returning to their homeland.

As many as 118 Nepali people arrived in Kathmandu from Afghanistanvia a chartered flight of Jazeera Air via Doha, Qatar transit  on Tuesday alone. 

“As many as 118 Nepali nationals have arrived in the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu,” said SSP Rajesh Nath Bastola, chief of the security office at the TIA.

Nepali nationals in Afghanistan have been returning to Nepal since August 6. From August 6 to August 16, as many as 164 Nepali people have returned to Nepal on their own, according to the Immigration Office at TIA. With this, 291 Nepali nationals have returned from Afghanistan so far.

Those people returned from Afghanistan are currently staying at Radha Swami Quarantine Center at Samakhusi in the capital.
