Govt sacks Province 2 Governor Jha, recommends Hari Shankar Mishra as new province chief

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Government has sacked Rajesh Jha, Province Chief of Province 2.
A Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to oust him from the chief of Province 2. The Council of Ministers also recommended to President Bidya Devi Bhandari to appoint Hari Shankar Mishra as the new governor of the province.
Mishra is a former member of parliament and a Nepali Congress leader. His father, Ram Narayan Mishra, served as industry minister during the premiership of BP Koirala.
The KP Sharma Oli government sacked the erstwhile GovernorTilak Pariyar and appointed Jha as the province chief in February earlier this year.
The Sher Bahadur Deuba government had earlier replaced the provincial chiefs of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
