Preparations at administrative-level on to form fiscal commission

Kathmandu,  The government is working on preparations to constitute a fiscal commission to operate the fiscal affairs in the aftermath of the country adopting the federal set-up. Preparations of a draft to this regard are going on in the administrative level
According to National Planning Commission vice-chair Swarnim Wagle, the State has handed over the responsibility of formulating policies and rules regarding the formation of fiscal commission to senior high ranking government employees in the absence of people's elected parliament in the country.

In his address to a prize distribution ceremony organised on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Society of Economic Journalists- Nepal (SEJON) today, he said the (erstwhile) CA-turned Legislature-Parliament could not complete works relating to the formation of the commission. Such works are on the progress at the administrative-level.
On the occasion, he called on economic journalists to go for investigative news reporting, adding that credible and quality journalism would always do good to the society.
Nepal Rastra Bank governor Chiranjibi Nepal shared that out of 753 local levels in the country, fiscal services are yet to reach out to 120 levels. The central bank is making efforts to connect those local levels with banking services.
SEJON president presided over the programme.
