CIAA raids BPKIHS

DHARAN, Aug 12: The Commission of Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS). 

A joint team of the anti graft body deployed from its headquarters and Itahari-based regional office on Thursday raided the BPKIHS and seized important documents.

Staff and medics of the institute have been agitating for a long time demanding a probe on ‘corruption and irregularities’ while procuring medicines, equipment, internet and electricity. 

Agitators have been claiming that the institute has reported irregularities and mismanagement following the arrival of Vice-Chancellor Dr Gyanendra Giri and Registrar Mohan Chandra Regmi. 

A task force formed by the government also concluded that corruption was reported in the institute.
