Pakistani cricketer Afridi to play for Kathmandu Kings XI in EPL
KATHMANDU, July 26: Former captain of the national men's cricket team of Pakistan, Sahid Afridi has joined the Everest Premier League (EPL) franchise T20 cricket tournament.
Afridi will be playing on behalf of the Kathmandu Kings XI in the tournament that will be held in the capital from September 22.
At a press meet held on Monday, the Kathmandu Kings XI announced the contract with the 46-year-old all rounder Afridi. During his involvement with the Pakistani national team from 1996 to 2018, Afridi played 26 tests, 398 one-day internationals and 99 T20 matches.
Kathmandu Kings XI is one of the six franchise teams competing in the mega event to be held in the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Others taking part in the 4th edition of the EPL are defending champion Lalitpur Patriots, Pokhara Rhinos, Chitwan Tigers, Bhairahawa Gladiators and Biratnagar Warriors.
