Bagmati govt spends nearly 70 percent budget last FY

MAKWANPUR, July 23: Bagmati provincial government has spent 69.78 percent of its total budget allocated in the previous fiscal year, 2020/21. 

an increment as compared to the FY, 2019/20. 

Of over Rs 51.42 billion allocated in the last FY, Rs 35.88 billion was spent. 

According to the Provincial Treasury and Account Controller’s  Office, Hetauda, 65.71 percent of the allocated budget under the recurrent expenditure.  Rs 14.41 billion was spent of Rs 21.93 billion. 

Similarly, the province reported 73 percent progress in the capital expenditure where Rs. 20.7 billion was used up of the total allocation of Rs 27.49 billion. 

The provincial government had allocated Rs 2 billion for fiscal management, of which, 70 percent --- Rs 1.40 billion--- was spent. 

With this, 34.21 percent of the budget allocated for recurrent expenditure, 27 percent for capital and 30 percent for fiscal management was not spent.
