Single-shot J&J vaccination administration kicks off (Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU, July 19: Administration of Johnson & Johnson vaccine against the coronavirus disease has kicked off. 

The US-made vaccine, which works on a single shot, is being administered to people, aged between 50 and 54. Similarly, people with disabilities [full and severe], refugees, medical professionals and sanitation workers who missed earlier  vaccinations will also be inoculated with this vaccine. 

The United States provided 1.6 million doses of the vaccine on grant under the COVAX facility. 

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday started monitoring vaccination centers. Prime Minister Deuba reached a vaccination center in Jorpati at 10 AM. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to inspect the vaccination centers including Jorpati Hospital, Maharajgunj Teaching Hospital, Mahabuddha Hospital and Patan Hospital on Monday.
