Post-mortem of Sujita Bhandari : No bruises found on body, viscera test to be carried out

CHITWAN, July 8: A post mortem report has revealed that the cause of death of Sujita Bhandari, whose dead body was found in a community forest of Brahmasthan of Chitwan, was not due to bruises on the body.
The post-mortem of the dead body was carried out at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). According to the physicians, no injury was spotted on the body of Bhandari. A final written post-mortem report, however, is yet to be produced.
There was no major injury on the body as per the investigators involved in the case but a minor injury was seen in the left hand. But the reason for the death was not the minor cut, the physicians concluded.
It was also revealed that no hymen breakage sign was spotted, meaning no rape attempt was made on Bhandari.
According to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Dhiraj Pratap Singh, the mortal remains were sent to the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) for the viscera test.
Bhandari, 23, was found dead in Rapti Municipality, Chitwan on Sunday night. A mobile was also recovered some 15 meters away from the body.
The reason for her death is still not revealed. A team deployed from the CIB is investigating the incident.
Sujita, who left home at 6 AM on June 26, called her sister and informed the latter that she had been kidnaped. Her family claimed that the incident took place as the police did not take prompt action though they were informed about the ‘abduction’.
