Dolakha's afternoon election atmosphere marked by tension

 

 

Dolakha, The election atmosphere in Dolakha that remained peaceful until the afternoon was gripped by tension thereafter after 'fake voters' appeared in the polling stations. 
Police opened five rounds of blank fire to take the situation under control after cadres of leftist alliance captured a booth from a polling centre at Marbu of Baityeshwor Rural Municipality-7 and cast ballots in the name of others. The security was forced to open five rounds of fire in air after some people tried to take the polling centre under their control, Chief District Officer Laxman Bikram Thapa said. 
Likewise, cadres of the leftist alliance and Nepali Congress engaged in a brief clash at Suri of Guarishankar Rural Municipality after the leftist alliance's cadres reportedly tried to drive the NC cadres out of the polling station with the intention of capturing the booth. 
NC local leader Gyan Bahadur Jirel was beaten and chased away by the leftist cadres from the polling station at Jungu of the same rural municipality, as reported by NC district secretary Santosh Rimal. 
Police have arrested seven youths of the leftist alliance on the charge of trying to capture booth at Bhirkot. The arrested will be brought to the district headquarters Charikot and tried for their alleged crime, CDO Thapa told the media. (Photo available)
