75 out of 77 districts enforce prohibitory orders

KATHMANDU, May 11: Amid the existing fears of the coronavirus disease, the local administrations have placed restriction orders in an attempt to stem the transmission chain of the deadlier variant of the virus. 

The district administration offices of 75 districts across the country have enforced prohibitory orders. Of the total 77 districts, Manang and Khotang, however, have not  imposed any restriction measures, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs. . 

While 72 districts have imposed orders throughout the districts, three others --  Mustang, Taplejung and Saptari have placed the orders only in affected zones. 

Local administration started imposing restriction orders beginning from April 29. 

Meanwhile, the prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley, where Nepal’s capital lies, have been extended until June 21.
