Nepal reports 5,042 new COVID cases, 68 deaths

KATHMANDU, June 5: The number of new COVID-19 infection cases has reported a slight decline in the country on Saturday. The country recorded a total of 3,540 new cases of virus through the  RT-PCR tests and 1,402 others through the antigen tests., 

Similarly,  8,243 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours as of Saturday afternoon. With this, Nepal’s recovery rate has jumped to 82.8 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 68 infected patients died of the virus infection in the same period across the country.  With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 7,799 in the country.

The Ministry further stated that total infection cases so far reached 598,204 ---585,100 through RT-PCR and 66,689 through the antigen testing methods. Similarly, altogether 484,373 infected persons have recovered so far.  There are 92,928 reported active cases in the country.
