Govt to unveil economic survey tomorrow, budget on Saturday

KATHMANDU, May 27: The Ministry of Finance is preparing to release the economic survey at 2 PM on Friday. 

According to the officials at the ministry, the survey will be unveiled through a virtual event with a limited physical attendance of officials and media persons. 

Despite the constitutional provision of introducing the policies and programs before 15 days of budget  presentation in the House, the government did not table the policies and programs amid the political turmoil. 

The Finance Ministry is presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22 through an ordinance on Saturday as per the constittuional provision. The government is reportedly introducing election-focused programs as mid-term polls have been announced for November later this year.
