KATHMANDU, May 15: Locals of Patan have pulled the chariot of Rato Machindranath amidst the rising fears of the novel coronavirus disease.
Machhindranath, god of rain and good harvest, enthroned in the chariot, was worshipped as per rituals on Saturday morning.
Hundreds of people, who gathered in Latipur to observe the chariot pulling procession, applied necessary precautions. The local administration also maintained strict vigilance throughout the procession. This year, the District Administration Office, Lalitpur has designated various areas as prohibited areas until 10 PM on Saturday to prevent overcrowding owing to the corona epidemic.
