Citing oxygen crisis, four hospitals in Kathmandu say they can’t admit new corona patients

KATHMANDU, May 8:  Four hospitals in Kathmandu have said that they would not admit new corona patients citing the acute crisis of live saving oxygen.

Issuing a joint statement on Saturday, Medicare Hospital Limited, Nepal-Bharat Maitri Hospital, Dirghayu Guru Hospital and Research Center and Helping Hands Community Hospital stated that  they would not admit new patients as the regular supply of oxygen in the hospitals has been difficult. “Similarly,  alternative arrangement of the oxygen is not easy for now,” the statement read.

The hospitals also shared that the service will be provided in limited beds from Saturday until there is regular supply of oxygen.
