Long lasting unity among democratic forces imperative: Chair Thapa

Hetauda - Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Deputy Prime Minister, Kamal Thapa, has said that there should be a long-lasting unity among democratic forces for strengthening of democracy and press freedom. 

At a programme organised by RPP, Makawanpur, at Bagmati Rural Municipality on Wednesday, Chairman Thapa said that the political change could not get its meaning until people were made self-reliant. 

Saying the constitution has given top position to Dalit community for increasing their participation in politics, he said that the community should be honest towards national integrity and democracy. 

DPM Thapa said that democratic forces should follow BP Koirala's national reconciliation policy and carry out activities, by rising above party interests to take the democratic thoughts and ideology ahead under the Nepali Congress leadership.
