NC intensifies discussion to select candidates for 2nd round of election

Kathmandu- Nepali Congress (NC), the major ruling party, has intensified the discussions for selection of the candidates to contest the second round of elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.     

The meeting of the Central Parliamentary Committee chaired by Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba here today discussed on choosing the candidates from the lists which was recommended by the NC's district chapters. 

NC's leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the meeting also dwelt on holding consultations with the political parties forging electoral alliance with the NC and fielding the candidates accordingly. 

According to him, the candidates will be chosen soon. 

The political parties have registered nominations for the first round election to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies slated to take place on November 26 this year while the nominations ought to be registered for the second round election to House of Representatives and State Assemblies slated to take place for December 7 this year by November 2. 

The party has also expedited the election campaign to attract voters, forming central publicity committee chaired by Bal Krishna Khand. 

Similarly, the manifesto is to be given a final touch and sent to press for publication, NC party office Secretary Prem KC said.
