Red Cross hands over rescue equipments to police
Chitwan - Nepal Red Cross Society, Chitwan on Monday handed over equipment required for rescue during accidents on the highway and road sections to the Area Police Office, Muglin.
These equipments were provided through the assistance of the Japanese Red Cross Society. Nepal Red Cross Society Chitwan branch president Gyanshali Neupane handed over the equipments to Police Inspector Yogendra Hamal of the Area Police Office, Muglin.
The equipments handed over include the ones that are immediately needed in emergencies during road accident. These include 15 different articles as dynamic cord, halogen search light, zoomer, seat harness, figure of eight, lock carabiner, hand gloves, pulleys, headlight, stretcher, life jacket, back board, throw bag and helmet. These articles are worth Rs 296 thousand, according to Neupane.
These articles are useful in the rescue and search for vehicles fallen into rivers as well as other types of road accidents. Police Inspector Hamal said that they had been facing difficulties in disaster management and rescue due to the lack of low-cost but essential equipments even in minor accidents.
Similarly, the Red Cross Chitwan handed over various equipments useful for disaster management to the Disaster Management Committee at Darechok rural municipality-9 on the occasion.
