Four succumb to coronavirus in Rupandehi and Banke districts

Kathmandu - Four people died of coronavirus infection in Banke and Rupandehi districts. A person who died in Lumbini Provincial Hospital on Wednesday evening was confirmed coronavirus infection during the swab test today. The 42-year-old infected man from Kotahimai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi also died during his treatment at Corona Special Hospital.

Hospital’s Information Officer Dr Bishnu Gautam said in a press statement that the man’s RT PRC report was received today. He was suffering from respiratory related ailments. Likewise, 80-year-old man of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City died last night, the hospital said.

He was admitted to the Corona Special Hospital after testing positive for the virus on Monday. Dr Gautam said that the octogenarian died at 11:30 last night. Two more coronavirus infected people died in Bank district this morning. Both coronavirus infected people died in course of treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur.

According to Corona resource person at the District Health Office, Banke, Naresh Shrestha, a 42-year-old man of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City and 75-year-old woman of Surkhet died in course of treatment. With this, number of coronavirus death case has reached 17 in Banke.

Shrestha said out of 112 coronavirus infected people with symptoms undergoing treatment at different isolation ward of hospitals of the district, condition of 21 coronavirus infected people undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj and Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur, is serious.
