One killed in road accident

Kathmandu - A person has died after being hit by a truck at Tikauli in ward no. 12 of Bharatpur municipality last night. The deceased has been identified as Puran Giri,34, of ward no. 14 of Ratnanagar municipality, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.

The accident on the East-west highway took place as the truck (Na. 5 Kha. 1364) heading towards Bharatapur from Ratnanagar hit a motorcycle (Na. 64 Pa. 8363) that Giri was riding. Seriously injured in the accident, he died during treatment at Bharatpur hospital, according to the Office spokesperson Surya Bahadur Thapa. The truck driver has been taken into police custody for necessary action.
