National Assembly vice-chairperson calls for marking Teej with unique identity

Kathmandu - Vice-chairperson of the National Assembly, the upper chamber of the Federal Parliament, Sashikala Dahal, has urged the Nepali women celebrating Teej festival to do so staying at their home to be safe from the coronavirus pandemic. She said this in a message of best wishes she gave on the occasion of the Teej festival today.

Stating that Teej is a festival of family union and social goodwill that also provided an opportunity to celebrate women's freedom, get-together with fellow friends and sisters and exchange pleasantries, Vice-chairperson Dahal suggested celebrating this festival along with its unique identity by remaining aware of the cultural and economic aberrations seen in recent times. The Upper House Vice-chairperson also expressed her belief that the festival of Teej will contribute to unite the women and motivate them to remain aware about their rights and duties.
