State 2 communications bill returned, citing errors

Kathmandu - The State 2 Communications Bill which was earlier endorsed unanimously by the State Assembly was send back by the State Chief. The bill was forwarded to State Chief Tilak Pariyar for authentication and it was returned citing some technical errors and flaws in words synchronization and several clauses and sub-clauses.

It was sent to the ministry of internal affairs and law, seeking corrections, according to State Chief’s secretary Padam Bishwakarma. It may be noted that the Federation of Nepali Journalists, an umbrella organization of media workers, has concerns over the bill. The FNJ province 2 has been demanding its withdrawal as it is capable of controlling over press and hurting the spirit of the free Press, according to chair Dipendra Chauhan.
